The Fallen are the first vampires we developed years ago with this concept. These are vampires that haven't feed in weeks. They lose all ability to reason and attack anything that moves, the condition is irreversible. Back during the 4th age of the Legion during the Lycan wars, a vampire general named Toronas abandoned his brigade in the artic tundra after being overrun by the Lycans.
